Are company`s wasting their time with social media profiles?

In today Modern world just about everyone has to keep up with social media to survive, whether you are and individual or a business.  I find whenever you log onto a company’s profile page it will have the Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin icons. Many companies bombard you with the new famous words like our page and poof we all like it and do not necessarily end up buying a thing from them.

Nowadays many smaller companies especially NPO`s and NGO`s are replying on social media platforms  to advertise their organisation and reach out to possible sponsors, it actually costs them more money to advertise their profiles and they realise much later that their company is actually failing to succeed it goals. As a company you pay for your profile to advertise your services rendered to the public whether it’s selling, clothing of a plumbing service that you advertising you may a large sum of money to get your profile out there and the not many people end up liking your page or even buying an item from you. This is completely a great loss for your organisation, money wasted just like that poof gone!

Don’t get me wrong I am not saying that social media platforms are a complete waste of time for your organisation in many instances it is a good thing for every organisation to have a profile as you never know who may show an interest in your organisation along the way. They can definitely help your business grow. It is of importance for any organisation that has a social media profile to choose the correct platform to advertise your business.

This is where companies go wrong, they not sure what platforms to choose and spend large sums of money thinking that they will get the buy in of viewers to like their page and use their services. Social Media can end up ruining your company as well so be careful when you ready to splurge on big exciting advert ideas for your social media platforms, this is a huge risk for your company especially if you have not increased the buy in of your services by those who like your page.
